我们习惯于星座互容的概念，例如火星在巨蟹座，月亮在白羊座。每个行星都位于对方守护的星座中。传统上，行星也可以通过擢升、三分、边界或面位实现互容。
使用所示的网格形式，很容易找到是否有行星处于互容状态。例如，在decumbiture星盘（见图2），金星位于土星的三分位。要检查金星和土星是否互容，沿着这条线查看土星位于哪个三分位。
它位于金星的三分位，因此金星和土星处于互容状态。
如果行星没有处于本垣或互容状态，则被称为游离，因此虚弱或受损。这可以通过星号表示，如图所示。
任何由于处于其陷落或失势而受损的行星也可以用同样的方式突出显示。
Lilly对行星的尊贵和受损给出了冲相位权重（表7）。没有提到三分、边界或面位的互容，但由于这些在其他地方被提及为有效，似乎可以安全地假设它们遵循星座和擢升的模式，并赋予与相应尊贵相同的值。
